How to Remove a Fresh Red Wine Stain from a Polyester Couch

Step-by-Step Cleaning Method

Once you've blotted up the excess, follow these steps to lift the remaining stain:

1. Mix a cleaning solution of 1 tablespoon of dish soap (like Dawn) and 2 cups of cold water. Dish soap helps break down the wine's pigments.
2. Dip a clean white cloth into the solution, wring it out well so it's damp, not wet.
